There are many resources available to Asheville residents, and listing many of them would make these pages read like a very thick phone book. But we hope that what we've listed here provides for you a helpful starting point to locate the resources that you need. Of course, there are always the low-tech but trusted telephone directory books like the Yellow Pages and the White Pages. Aside from possibly getting a paper cut, you can't get a spy-ware, spam-ware, or zombie-ware that are usually disguised as free-wares passed on to your computer. If the telephone directory book is too low-tech for you, then there are the various Internet search engines like Alta Vista, Excite, Google, Lycos, MSN, and Yahoo. Finally, take advantage of the Asheville Area Chamber of Commerce because they have a plethora of resources for, such as, health, employment, school, retail, restuarant. If you prefer to speak to a person, then you can call them up on the telephone as well. Asheville Area Chamber of Commerce is listed in the Government section.
